Note: The health and safety of our volunteers is of the utmost importance to us. If you have recently returned from overseas, have any symptoms associated with Covid-19 (fever, shortness of breath, runny nose, cough, sore throat) or have been in contact with anyone confirmed to have Covid-19, we ask that you do not apply to adopt at this time. We also ask that strict social distancing (1.5m minimum) and hygiene is adhered to at all interactions with volunteers.
So you’re thinking of adopting a pal? Congratulations, that’s great! What now?
A full list of our available dogs can be found here. You should also keep an eye on our Facebook page for newcomers! If you see an animal that looks like they could be your next pal, submit an Application Form. Once you have submitted the completed Application Form, a volunteer from the Pawfect Pals Adoption Team will be in touch. Please note, the animal you are interested in may not be available at the time you submit your application form, but we will always do our best to match you with another animal in our care.
When a suitable match has been found, we’ll arrange for the animal’s foster carer to give you a call, to discuss your potential new pal in further detail.
A home inspection is then carried out to ensure your new pal will be happy and safe at your home. We also encourage you to meet your potential new pal before beginning the trial period.
Once the adoption fee has been paid, you can take your new pal home and begin the 4 week trial. We are available for support and guidance during the trial period, to make the transition as smooth as possible for you and your new pal.
Puppy (up to 6 months) $600
Adolescent Dog (6-12 months) $500
Adult Dog (over 12 months) $450
Kitten (up to 6 months) $300
Adult Cat (over 6 months) $250
All our animals are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and wormed prior to adoption.
Some things to remember….
- The adoption process – from submitting your application, to beginning the trial – takes approximately 2 weeks, so please submit an application only if you are ready to take your new pal home within the next 2 weeks. If you are planning something that will delay the adoption process, i.e. going on holiday, moving house etc., we suggest you wait until your schedule clears to submit your application. We are unable to hold an animal for long periods of time.
- We make our decision based on which home is most suitable for our animals and always put their best interests first. This decision is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.
- We endeavour to respond to every application that arrives in our inbox in a timely manner, but please bear with us; we are all volunteers with jobs, families and our own pals to take care of!
